Overview
To set up your use of PurpleAir:
- Access the PurpleAir website
- Set PurpleAir's data layer to display Canadian PM2.5 (AQHI+) data
- Set Purple Air's map to show the Akinsdale sensor in St. Albert
- Save your settings and access to PurpleAir
If you are a captain, cancel or suspend Alpine courts play if this Akinsdale sensor is higher than 7 on the Canadian AQHI scale.
Purple Air is not an app you will find in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, but you can save a bookmark or an icon (apparent app) to quickly access PurpleAir in the future.
Steps - Three Alternatives (A, B, C)
A. PurpleAir via Internet (e.g. on a Windows computer)

- Open Chrome (or another browser) and go to map.purpleair.com

At the Purple Air website:
- Use the map menu to bring up a real-time map, then scroll the map to St. Albert and zoom into the Akinsdale sensor
- Click the setting button (gear icon) in the data layer text box, and select Canadian PM2.5 (AQHI+)
- If desired, create a browser bookmark to remember the above website data and map settings
B. PurpleAir on an Apple

- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome
- Go to map.purpleair.com
- Use the map menu to bring up a real-time map, scroll to St. Albert and zoom into Akinsdale
- Click the settings button (gear icon) in the data layer text box and select Canadian PM2.5 (AQHI+)
- On the right of the address bar, tap Share
- Find and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm or edit the website details and tap Add.
- If you want the map to remember your location and map settings, save cookies.
C. PurpleAir on an Android

- On your Android device, open Chrome.
- Go to map.purpleair.com
- Use the map menu to bring up a real-time map, scroll to St. Albert and zoom into Akinsdale
- Click the settings button (gear icon) in the data layer text box and select Canadian PM2.5 (AQHI+)
- On the right of the address bar, tap More > Add to home screen > Install.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- If you want the map to remember your location and map settings, save cookies.
